IU Fort Wayne offers a variety of scholarship opportunities for incoming and enrolled students.
Scholarships will be reviewed and awarded on or before March 1 annually.
Note: Admission-based scholarships are only available to students admitted for the fall semester.
By Title IV rules, we include the scholarships you receive when we calculate how much need-based aid you’re eligible for. As long as we’ve received your scholarship funds from your donor by the deadline, any adjustments to your financial aid will be made before your bill is due.
Award: $1,000–$8,000 per year
Criteria:
High school seniors are invited to share what inspires them to care for others through the Called to Care Essay Invitational. Students can submit a written or video essay.
Students who have encountered unforeseen financial hardship

The Adam W. Herbert Presidential Scholars Program (HPS) gives top-achieving high school graduates in Indiana a head start on reaching their college goals with a four-year renewable scholarship to attend any IU campus. Funded by the Lilly Endowment, Inc., the program welcomes a minimum of 30 incoming Indiana University freshmen every year.
Students are nominated to be Herbert Presidential Scholars. There is no open application process for potential scholars to initiate. Students who have applied for admission by November 1 of their senior year to the Indiana University campus they intend to attend and have submitted an IU General Scholarship application will be automatically considered for Herbert Presidential Scholars awards. Campus leadership will review eligible candidates and make nominations to the Herbert Presidential Scholarship committee.

Incoming transfer student from another college or university outside the IU system
Minimum 3.0 college cumulative GPA
Minimum 26 credit hours completed
Dual credit courses taken in high school do not count toward the 26-credit minimum requirement.
Enrolled full-time and degree-seeking at IU Fort Wayne
Renewal requirements: There are no renewal requirements
Deadline: Apply to IU Fort Wayne by June 1
How to apply: There is no application required. This scholarship is automatically awarded to qualified students at the time of admission.
Students transferring from another Indiana University campus are not eligible for the Transfer Excellence Award.
Award: $2,000 ($500 annually for 4 years*)
Criteria:
Non-traditional student
Individuals enrolled in a degree program age 25 and older
Preference: Student needs and merit
