Biographical statement
I am a Clinical Professor of Dental Hygiene at Indiana University Fort Wayne School of Dentistry, Division of Allied Dental Education, Fort Wayne, Indiana. I am a graduate of East Tennessee State University, Loyola University of Chicago, and Indiana University. I have lived abroad and taught internationally. After earning six state licenses, I have worked in periodontal practices in the south and throughout the mid-west. Currently I am the Clinic II coordinator and teach periodontics, community dental hygiene and dental public health. I am an international professional educator in Asia and the Pacific Rim and consult on dental hygiene education and dental hygiene curriculum. I serve on mission trips to the Dominican Republic and provide educational consulting resources for a mission agency. Currently I am a peer reviewer for Dimensions of Dental Hygiene and the International Journal of Dental Hygiene and have authored textbook chapters as well as peer reviewed articles. I am a new examiner for the CDCA clinical dental hygiene licensure examination, as well as a member of the American Dental Hygienists' Association and Indiana Dental Hygienists' Association.
