Biographical Statement

Christine Rassel joined the Medical Imaging and Radiologic Sciences program at Indiana University Fort Wayne in 2026. She serves as the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Clinical Coordinator and Associate Professor of Clinical Radiologic and Imaging Sciences.

Christine has been part of Indiana University since 2016, previously serving as Clinical Coordinator for the Medical Imaging Technology program at IU Kokomo. She brings extensive experience in medical imaging across multiple modalities, including radiography, mammography, MRI, and diagnostic medical sonography. She continues to maintain active clinical practice as a sonographer with Community Health Network, supporting the integration of current clinical standards into curriculum design and clinical education.

Her clinical and instructional expertise includes abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, and vascular sonography, with a strong emphasis on clinical competency development, quality assurance, and workforce readiness. In her leadership role, she supports accreditation-aligned clinical education, interprofessional collaboration, and continuous program improvement.

Christine earned her Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging Technology from Indiana University in 2007 and her Master of Public Health in Public Health Management from Indiana University in 2022. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree at the American College of Education, with scholarly interests focused on maternal and fetal health outcomes, including the role of diagnostic imaging, access to high-quality prenatal care, and systems-level factors influencing equity and outcomes in maternal–fetal medicine.
