Biography
Dr. Steven Ellinwood has been a dedicated dentist serving the Northeast side of Fort Wayne on Maplecrest Road for 36 years. His extensive career is marked by a series of leadership roles and notable contributions to the field of dentistry. He has served as the Past President of both the Issac Knapp District Dental Society and the Indiana Dental Association. Additionally, Dr. Ellinwood is the Indiana and Ohio Caucus Chair for the American Dental Association and a delegate to both the Indiana Dental Association House of Delegates and the American Dental Association House of Delegates.
Dr. Ellinwood is also a member of the American Dental Association Membership Council and has contributed his expertise to the IUFW Advisory Board as an Ad-Hoc member. His passion for providing dental care extends beyond the United States; he is the co-founder of Sonrisas Siempre, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to offering dental care in Central America.
In addition to his dental practice, Dr. Ellinwood serves as the President of the Madina Village School Board in Madina, Sierra Leone. He has shared his knowledge as an Adjunct Professor at IU Indianapolis and IU Fort Wayne from 2014 to 2021 and has continued to educate future dentists as an Assistant Professor since 2021. As of May 1, 2024, he took on the role of Director of Dental Education at IU Fort Wayne.
Dr. Ellinwood is married to Laura, with two married children, Alexa (Aaron) and Chase (Chelsea), and three grandchildren with one more on the way.
