General Education
General education provides an academic introduction to life at IU Fort Wayne and serves as a unifying framework for the knowledge, skills, habits of mind, and values that students acquire throughout their degree programs. General education exposes students to the fundamental ideas, questions, and intellectual activities that will prepare them to be lifelong learners in a democratic society.
General Education Core 30
The IU Fort Wayne General Education Core serves as the foundation for all degree programs at IU Fort Wayne and includes 30 credit hours (typically 10 courses) that often are taken in the first and second years of college.
Courses have been rigorously reviewed and approved by faculty members from all academic units, providing IU Fort Wayne students with a diverse array of options for fulfilling their general education requirements.
