Study abroad is much more than a trip—it’s an intellectual and cultural adventure that will change the way you see the world, other people, and yourself. Study abroad takes many forms such as credit-bearing programs, clinical experiences, internships, and service-learning projects. Through study abroad, student continue to earn credits towards their degree while building professional and interpersonal skills through an international experience.
Most of our programs do NOT have a foreign language requirement. If you are studying a foreign language, study abroad is the best way to dramatically improve your language skills. However, students of any major are eligible to study abroad!
From year-long, semester, spring break, or summer programs, there is a program length that can fit your goals! Study abroad does not take one specific form, and many students find the flexibility of short-term programs to be a great way to have an international experience while working towards their professional goals.
As an IUFW student, you are eligible to apply for programs offered through any of IU’s campuses. IU offers more than 250 programs in over 50 countries. Check all the programs online. There are many scholarships to support study abroad that are organized by the IU Indianapolis Study Abroad Office, different departments, campuses, and organizations outside of IU. For more information, click here
