Angie Zaegel is the President/CEO of Neighborhood Health and has led the organization for the past eight years. She has championed high quality health care and community health centers for over 25 years. She began at Neighborhood Health in 1997 and has served in several capacities including the Chief Operating Officer. During her tenure as President/CEO, she has overseen the expansion of four service lines – optometry, behavioral health, chiropractic care and onsite retail pharmacy. She leads a staff of 220 across three clinics and five WIC locations serving Allen County and the surrounding areas.
Angie’s patient-centered mindset is a large part of two recognitions for the organization – landing in the top quartile of health centers for outstanding diabetic care and a local award as the “Most Welcoming Non-Profit Organization” to immigrants and refugees. It is this mindset that was the backdrop for Neighborhood Health’s most recent endeavor – the Oxford Clinic Project – an almost $20M campaign that will bring desperately needed healthcare services to southeast Fort Wayne.
Angie holds a BS from James Madison University, and an MBA from Western Governors University with a concentration in Health Care. She is a graduate of the Leadership Fort Wayne training program which included serving for two years on American Red Cross of Northeast Indiana’s Board of Directors. In 2022, she was nationally recognized by Custom Learning Systems and given the Founder’s Award. Most recently, Angie was nominated for Greater Fort Wayne’s Champion of Change in May of 2024. In addition to the IU Advisory Board, Angie serves as the Board Chair of the Indiana Primary Care Association for the state of Indiana, Board Member for the Indiana Graduate Educate Board, and Board Member for Fort Wayne Medical Education Program.
