Biography
Marilyn is currently the Superintendent of East Allen County Schools.
Having grown up in Woodburn, IN, Marilyn attended East Allen County Schools her entire life from Kindergarten through her graduation from Woodlan High School.
Marilyn earned two degrees from Ball State University - a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 1992, and an education specialist degree (superintendent’s license) in 1998. She also holds a master’s degree in education (administrator’s license) from Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne.
A 30-year EACS veteran educator, Marilyn has served in several roles throughout the district. She began her teaching career in 1992 at Village Elementary School and was named principal at Monroeville Elementary School in 1998. She also served as principal at Highland Terrace and Hoagland Elementary Schools and New Haven Middle School before being named director of curriculum in 2010 to 2013 and assistant superintendent of elementary education from 2013 to 2017 prior to being named superintendent in 2017.
Marilyn is a member of Indiana School Boards Association, National School Boards Association, Indiana Association of Public-School Superintendents, Upper Wabash Valley Superintendent’s Study Council, Women Educators Leading Learning, and New Allen Alliance. She serves as a board member for Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana, Allen County Educational Partnership, the EACS’s Educational Foundation, and Region 8 Education Service Center.
Marilyn and her husband, Todd, have two children. Jordan is a graduate from Tiffin University and is currently Allen County Sheriff. Makayla is a graduate from the University of Saint Francis and is currently a fifth grade teacher at Prince Chapman Academy in East Allen County Schools.
