A total of 75 students have been awarded scholarships at IU Fort Wayne, receiving a combined 94 awards that amount to $239,200. David Chappell, Assistant Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management and Operations, highlighted the importance of these scholarships. "These scholarships are not just financial aid; they are an investment in the future of our healthcare system. By supporting these students, we are ensuring that our community will have access to well-trained, compassionate health professionals in the years to come,” he said.

The scholarships will cover various expenses related to the students' education, including tuition, books, and other fees. This financial support will alleviate some of the burdens faced by students, allowing them to focus more on their studies and less on financial worries.

One of the scholarship recipients, Mackenzie Young, expressed her gratitude and shared her aspirations. "This [scholarship] will aid in helping me continue my education in the dental hygiene program at IUFW as the expenses play a major role in a medical degree,” she said. “Being a dental hygienist means I can help others feel comfortable with their smiles and encourage people in our community to live a healthy lifestyle. From a young age helping others has always been important to me, and my education at IUFW is helping me achieve this goal.”
