Indiana University–Fort Wayne's (IUFW) academic degree programs are not all available to those international students holding or seeking a student visa (F1 or J1). Please check with the International Admissions Office for available programs.

Please be sure to include that you are an international student who is applying or already admitted to study at IU Fort Wayne.”
At IU Fort Wayne, we carefully review each application. We’ll look at your academic performance and preparation, the strength and quality of the curriculum you were in at all secondary schools and universities, your recent grade trends, and your class rank.
We use the following standards when making admission decisions.
- You must have completed or will complete secondary school by the time you enroll.
- You must have a 2.50 out of 4.00 cumulative GPA from all secondary schools you attended.
- SAT or ACT exam scores are not required for admission. However, we can use them to verify your English proficiency.
- You must meet our English language proficiency standards.
- You must be in good academic standing at your current institution.
- You must have a 2.0 out of 4.0 cumulative GPA from all universities you attended.
- You must meet our English language proficiency standards.
If you have more than 26 transferable credit hours in academic subjects, you will not need to submit secondary school records. However, if you have fewer than 26 transferable credit hours in academic subjects, you will need to submit secondary records for admission review in addition to postsecondary records.
To receive IU Fort Wayne transfer credit, your postsecondary coursework must have been completed at a regionally accredited institution in the United States, or the institution must have the proper accreditation in the foreign country where it is located.

Funding your education is an important factor when it comes to choosing which college is the best fit for you. IU Fort Wayne supports high-achieving undergraduate international students with a variety of scholarships, which are awarded upon admission to qualified students.

These points will be helpful to keep in mind when considering IUFW's scholarships:
- Apply by November 30 for maximum scholarship consideration if you plan to enroll at IU Fort Wayne in the fall term or by December 1 if you plan to enroll in the spring term.
- Students are not required to submit SAT or ACT scores to be considered for merit scholarships. However, you will need to submit them if you decide to apply for the Honors College competitive scholarships.
- All scholarships require you to be enrolled full time in the fall and spring semesters.
- Most admission-based scholarships require that you maintain a GPA of 3.0 to renew the scholarships from year to year.
IUFW awards a limited number of merit scholarships to incoming first-year international students each year.
These merit-based scholarships may cover up to $18,000 per year. The awards are renewable for four years. Students are automatically considered for these awards if you submit all required documents for admission by February 15. No separate application is required for merit scholarships. Students can receive ONE merit scholarship.
IU Fort Wayne awards a limited number of merit scholarships to incoming international transfer students each year. The awards are renewable for two years.
Students are automatically considered for these awards if you submit all required documents for admission by November 30. Students can receive ONE merit scholarship.
