Dr. Khalid Griffin
Dr. Khalid Griffin is no stranger to United Front. He has contributed to the advancement of United Front as a leader and an educator in the Fort Wayne community. While he currently serves Fort Wayne Community School as the Director of Student and Staff Relations, he has also made an impact as a teacher, professor, assistant principal, and principal. His dissertation explores the role of double consciousness for Black students in K-12 settings. His qualitative study revealed how students’ understanding of race and racial identity evolved over time, impacting their social, emotional, and physical connection to their learning environments. Dr. Griffin has spoken on local, regional, and national platforms about culturally responsive teaching strategies, cultural literacy, the psychological and emotional perspective of minority people, and, of course, shared humanity.
While he is grateful for all of the opportunities he’s had to make a difference in the Fort Wayne community and abroad, his greatest accomplishment is leading and serving his family. Dr. Griffin is married to LaToya Griffin, a marriage and family therapist. They have two children, Jade and Elijah.
