Dental Technology

The application deadline for IU Fort Wayne’s Dental Technology program has been extended to August 15, 2025. There’s still time to apply and take the next step toward your future in dental healthcare!

What is dental technology?

Dental technicians work behind the scenes to restore the patient's oral health by creating custom-made dental appliances and prostheses based on the specifications provided by the dentist.  Dental technicians work with advanced technology such as CAD/CAM and 3D-printing as well as various materials.

Bachelor of Science in Dental Technology

A Bachelor of Dental Technology degree, a four-year program, offers a more in-depth curriculum, covering advanced dental prosthetics, digital dentistry, and specialized areas such as orthodontic appliances or maxillofacial prosthetics. This degree may provide greater career opportunities, including leadership roles, research positions, and eligibility for certification exams.

Plan of study

Our program combines artistry, science, and oral health in a non-traditional university setting. It is a strategic starting-point for students pursuing dental school or students interested in dental laboratory management, dental sales, or owning their own dental laboratory.
