At IU Fort Wayne's Kid's College, rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will embark on an exciting, hands-on journey through the world of healthcare! This immersive weeklong experience dives deep into various health fields, giving students a chance to explore, learn, and engage like never before. The week culminates in a dynamic gallery event, where participants will showcase their newfound healthcare knowledge, insights into college life, and personal takeaways. Get ready for a week of discovery, innovation, and inspiration!

Dental Assisting

Dental Assistants are important members of the dental health care team who work with dentists in the delivery of dental care to patients. Dental Assistants utilize their knowledge and clinical skills to provide dental care for patients in every practice of dentistry.

Dental Hygiene

Dental hygienists are licensed dental health professionals who specialize in educational, preventive, and therapeutic oral health care for the public.

Dental Technology

Dental technicians work behind the scenes to restore the patient's oral health by creating custom-made dental appliances and prostheses based on the specifications provided by the dentist. Dental technicians work with advanced technology such as CAD/CAM and 3D-printing as well as a variety of materials.

Health Science

Our Health Science degree allows students to explore a number of health-related disciplines and prepares them for a wide variety of career options.

Health Services Management

The Bachelor of Science in Health Services Management program equips students for entry-level managerial and administrative roles in diverse healthcare settings, from hospitals to insurance companies

Medical Imaging Radiologic Technology

Radiographers (or Radiologic Technologists) use radiation to produce images of the human body for the purpose of medical diagnosis. In addition to completing coursework and clinical rotations focused in Radiography, students in the Medical Imaging Radiography Track at IUFW have the opportunity to explore and study several post-primary imaging modalities and career pathways such as CT, MRI and Mammography.

Medical Imaging Sonography

Sonographers (or Ultrasound Technologists) use sound waves to produce images of the human body for the purpose of medical diagnosis. Students in the Medical Imaging Sonography Track at IUFW will complete coursework and clinical rotations in abdomen, obstetrics and gynecology, and vascular sonography.

Nursing

Nursing is built on the foundation of providing direct patient care while serving as an advocate and health educator for individuals, families, and communities. Nurses play a vital role in promoting health, preventing disease, and supporting patients through illness. They observe, assess, and document symptoms, reactions, and progress, ensuring comprehensive care. Working closely with doctors, nurses assist in developing treatment plans, conducting exams, administering medications, and monitoring recovery—making a lasting impact on every patient’s journey to better health.

Social Work

Social work is a dynamic profession dedicated to supporting individuals, families, and communities as they navigate life’s challenges. Social workers serve in diverse settings, driven by a shared commitment to advocacy, empowerment, and improving overall well-being.
